Sea-Can obtains Wood Packaging certification for Export

On November 26, 2003 Sea-Can Containers received the new CWPCP (Canadian Wood Packaging Certification Program for Export) certification. This allows Sea-Can's crates and dunnage entry to the European Union and many other countries with out further Phytosanitary Inspections or Fumigation.

On October 10, 2003 the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) implemented new regulations for Export packaging. Sea-Can Containers is the 1st company in Edmonton to be certified under this new program.

Sea-Can's CWPCP custom crating provides many advantages for exporting and importing businesses in Edmonton. Wood Packaging, including crates, pallets, dunnage, and Ready-to-assemble crates can be shipped through out the world with fewer constraints.

These crates can be reused several times for export. Many areas of the world where Edmonton Oil and Gas companies ship equipment do not have certification programs for wood packaging. This make Sea-Can's CWPCP products especially valuable, as they can be re-sold an used for shipping back to the North America, The European Union, New Zealand, and soon Australia.

In hot and dry areas, such as the Middle East, Sea-Can's CWPCP certified crates and dunnage don't shrink as much as non certified wood packaging. This protects the product and keeps the load secured.

For Countries not yet excepting IPSM#15, Sea-Can coordinates with the CFIA and builds products to match import requirements for the destination country.
